Pickup & Transfer to Mida Creek (Optional)

  • Guests are picked up from their hotel or lodge in Watamu or Malindi (optional).

  • Brief introduction by the guide en route, covering the history and importance of Mida Creek and the Arabuko Sokoke Forest ecosystem.

Self-drive guests may meet the guide directly at the Mida Creek boardwalk entrance.


 Traditional Canoe Ride

  • Meet your local guide and hop aboard a traditional dugout canoe, hand-paddled by expert navigators.

  • Drift peacefully through tidal mangrove channels, passing rich flora and fauna.

  • Learn about the 7 mangrove species found in the creek and their role in coastal protection.

  • Spot marine life like mudskippers, crabs, and fish, and watch for birds such as:

    • Pied kingfishers, African fish eagles, egrets, herons, and — in season — flamingos and ospreys.

 Boardwalk Walk & Mangrove Viewing Platform
